About "Return Flag"

Project idea

The client needed to transform an existing Custom app into a Public Shopify App with additional functionalities to monitor and manage customer return behavior. Specifically, they wanted the app to flag customers who abused return policies and adjust the store’s return conditions based on each customer’s purchase and return history. The goal was to reduce losses from excessive returns and improve policy enforcement. We developed a Public Shopify App, Return Flag, with an intuitive dashboard that allows merchants to track product returns and flag customers who exhibit suspicious behavior. For example, if a customer consistently returns products, the system will flag them as unreliable, and future purchases will prompt a pop-up notifying them that returns are no longer available. The app provides a customer list with detailed return behavior data, offers the ability to flag individuals, and allows for customizable return policy messaging. This approach enables merchants to implement a more efficient and flexible return policy based on customer behavior. Return Flag gives merchants greater control over their return policies, allowing them to prevent potential abuse while encouraging fair returns. By identifying and flagging customers who abuse return privileges, businesses can reduce unnecessary return processing costs and improve profitability. The app rethinks traditional return policies by rewarding responsible customer behavior and limiting abusive practices, creating a better balance between customer satisfaction and business sustainability.
